School Board Members

2024-2026 School Board Members are: Jody Day - President (Place 7), Justin Smith - Vice President (Place 2), Tim Turner - Secretary (Place 4), Tim Bower, Asst. Secretary (Place 6), Michael Potter (Place 3), Karey Barbee (Place 1) and Brian Cox (Place 5)

About the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees shall consist of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping terms of four years each. Elections are conducted in November on the November uniform election date. Four trustee positions will be up for election on November 3, 2026. Eligible residents, residing within district boundaries are welcome to apply at the UGISD Administration office.

Terms and Election Schedule

Board members shall be elected for four-year terms, with elections conducted biennially, as follows:

The election for places 1, 2, 4, and 5 will be held in 2026, 2030 and in four-year intervals thereafter.

The election for places 3, 6, and 7 will be held in 2028, 2032 and in four-year intervals thereafter.

Method of Voting

To be elected, a candidate must receive more votes than any other candidate for the place.

Application Process

The candidate filing period to file an application for place on the ballot is the 30th day before the filing deadline. The filing deadline for a general election is 5 p.m. on the 78th day before election day. Application forms can be picked up at the Union Grove ISD Administration office, 11220 Union Grove Rd., Gladewater, TX 75647. They can also be accessed with the attached links.

Candidates may pick up an election packet in person at the Union Grove ISD Administration office from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Thursday in July; or Monday - Friday in August at 11220 Union Grove Rd., Gladewater, TX 75647 or make a request to send a packet via mail, email or fax beginning July 27th, 2026
Applications may be submitted in person, by mail, email, or fax beginning July 20th, 2026.
Applications submitted by mail, email, or fax is receipt by filing authority or district designated agent, NOT postmarked.
Deadline to submit an application & Form CTA is Monday, August 17, 2026 at 5:00 pm
