Mrs. Rhonda Wilcox

Hello.  My name is Rhonda Wilcox.  I am a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of seven.  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling.  I have had the opportunity to make multiple trips to Latvia where I teach in a children's Bible camp.  An interesting fact about this small country, once controlled by Russia, is that the average height of Latvian women ranks tallest in the world.  This experience has enabled me to visit several European countries where I am intrigued by the beautiful buildings built centuries ago.  On a lighter note, I am a fan of Diet Coke and NCIS.

Both my mother and grandmother were teachers.  After graduating from White Oak High School, I chose to follow in their footsteps.  I am a two-time graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Masters of Education.  I have always loved working with kids of all ages.  So when asked, "When are you going to retire?"  My answer is, "Not yet.  I still love the kids."  This is my 39th year to teach and my 36th year to teach in Union Grove.  Due to my long stay at the Grove, I am blessed to teach the children of former students.  I currently teach Algebra 2 and Precalculus while serving as the National Honor Society Advisor.  

My goal is to provide support and encouragement as you progress through this school year.  May it be a time of learning new things, working together, and making great memories.  Don't hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do to help during this journey.  My formula for success is try your best in everything you do, stay positive, have fun, and keep smiling!  I'm looking forward to seeing you in class and having a great year!
